Statement

The notion that our cells and DNA, the fundamental physiological elements of our body, produce our status in the world are investigated through scientific images and the technologies that create them. Throughout history jewellery has been a platform to display status and wealth and project a particular persona to others.
My work is concerned with the internal microcosm of the human body. Images from within are externalized in forms of adornment. These objects are intended to reflect the way the minutiae of genes are made more visible and accessible and used as explanations of things external to the body.
